YHA Truleigh are looking for a Live In Team Member to join us for the 2025 Season (March - September). Our Team Members get involved in all aspects of hostel work, including housekeeping, catering (including cooking!) and reception duties.
As a live in role, you will be required to work a minimum of 25 hours per week, this is likely to increase to 35 hours per week in busy periods. You will be required to work some weekends.
You will earn £11.44 per hour (This will rise to £12.21 in March in line with National Living Wage and applies to all, including those under the age of 21)
This role offers Live-In accommodation - you will stay in a private single room in a shared flat, sharing with another YHA Staff Member. Staff accommodation is available at a rate of £63.70 per week.
We recommend that you can drive / have access to a car, due to the remote location of the hostel. It is possible to cycle to the hostel - but this does include a 3 mile, uphill ride!
The hostel offers accommodation for a variety of different guests including families, walkers, cyclists and School Groups. We have 52 beds across 13 rooms as well as a campsite and glamping site with Safari Tents and LandPods. We also have a café that opens to the public.

What will you be doing as a Hospitality Team Member?
We are a friendly team and will provide the training required for you to undertake the role. However, there is plenty for you to get stuck into from day one, including:
* Providing great customer service to all our customers, members and guests.
* Working on reception, offering insights about the hostel and the local area. Ensuring every guest feels informed and welcomed.
* Using our systems for efficient guest check-ins and check-outs, food and beverage sales and service.
* Carrying out housekeeping duties, ensuring a comfortable, clean environment for all visitors.
* Assisting in the preparation of food and serving food and drinks with genuine warmth, hospitality, and pride that will influence in more sales.
What Skills and Experience do you need to be a Hospitality Team Member?
Our Hospitality Team Members undertake a wide range of customer facing duties within the hostel, delivering an excellent service to all guests and visitors.
To provide this service to our guests we are looking for the following qualities in our Hospitality Team Members:
* Experience of working face to face with customers
* Experience of working in a team - can help others to achieve a common goal
* Excellent timekeeping, with flexibility to cover different shifts - punctual, can work to deadlines
* Ability to manage varying pressures, include peaks in workload demands - can prioritise, able to deal with conflicting duties
* Knowledge and understanding of the core purpose of YHA - what YHA does and how we do it
