An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us with working within our friendly and dedicated Supported Living Service located in Portsmouth.
Senior Support Worker 37.5 hours per week (Full Time) – Portsmouth (and the surrounding areas)
Flexible shifts over a 24/7 week, 365 days a year (Incl. weekends, bank holidays and sleep in shifts on a rota basis)
Salary: £25,837 per annum

The primary role is to support adults with learning disabilities to live whilst assisting them develop greater independence. Support is dependent on individual abilities and requirements, and ranges from 24/7 support in shared homes with 3 – 5 tenants to individuals living by themselves requiring minimum support that may be just a few hours per week. Within this role you will be required to work as part of the wider team within Portsmouth. You will be responsible for managing a single service and will take the lead on supporting individuals in the property to lead independent lives. Alongside this you will also lead your team through providing guidance, support, and training to further develop their skills.
The role:
* To support individuals to meet their goals and outcomes in health, wellbeing, and independence
* To support people with their individual personal, social, and healthcare needs as required
* To contribute to the operational running, quality assurance and leadership of the designated team
* To contribute to the management and leadership of Minstead Trust including undertaking on-call duties as required in order to ensure an effective 24-hour management team cover of the establishment
* To provide guidance and support to the learning and development of the staff team to ensure they are prepared to deliver high quality care
* To monitor home life, care materials and equipment is in correct working order and reporting any faults
* To build positive working relationships with family members, carers and other professionals as required
What are we looking for?
We are seeking individuals who are brilliant with people, motivated, honest, approachable, excellent communicators, responsible and committed to providing equal opportunities and quality support. A Level 3 NVQ in Health & Social care is desirable.
Experience of supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours that challenge is essential.
