Cyber Security Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Engineer with experience in Nessus scanning and Trellix to join our clients security team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities, implementing security measures, and enhancing our clients cyber defence strategy. This role requires an individual with a strong understanding of security frameworks, risk assessments, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct vulnerability scanning using Tenable Nessus to identify and mitigate security risks.
* Utilize Trellix security solutions (formerly McAfee Enterprise & FireEye) for threat detection, response, and remediation.
* Monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents and alerts.
* Perform penetration testing and security assessments to identify potential weaknesses.
* Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, etc.).
* Provide recommendations and reports based on vulnerability assessments and security findings.
* Stay updated on emerging threats and security trends to enhance organizational defence.
* Assist in security audits, risk management, and compliance initiatives.
* Train and educate staff on cybersecurity best practices and protocols.
Required Qualifications:
* 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles.
* Hands-on experience with Nessus vulnerability scanning tools.
* Proficiency in Trellix (McAfee Enterprise/FireEye) security solutions.
* Strong knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.
* Familiarity with SIEM tools, endpoint security, and incident response methodologies.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Applicants must be a British National with SC Clearance, hybrid 2 days a week.
