Job overview
We are recruiting an Advanced Practitioner/NMP to work within the North Northumberland Community Treatment Team, based at Hawkhill in Alnwick.
You will be working within an established multidisciplinary clinical team and as part of the leadership team, alongside the Team Manager and Clinical lead. The service covers the North area of Northumberland in two bases in Alnwick and Berwick, working with service users, families and carers in their home environments, as well as working within the team base.
The successful candidate will need to have a relevant registered qualification, need to be flexible in your approach and able to respond to the needs of the service.
As Advanced Practitioner/NMP you will have an identified NMP caseload, support the step up service and work within the Leadership Team to develop the service, provide clinical supervision, be available to offer expert clinical advice within complex situations and support positive risk taking, whilst also being able to work effectively alongside colleagues across CNTW and external partnerships.
Main duties of the job
You will need excellent organisational, time management and delegation skills. You will be expected to facilitate and deliver training with the team. In addition to these duties, you will support in the development and training of new and existing staff but work alongside the management team to ensure cohesive leadership structures are in place, to further embed high clinical standards and delivery of care within the CTT.
The successful candidate will lead on ensuring safe and responsive care is maintained and reviewed in a collective way through team meetings, supervision, attending Local After-Action Reviews, Serious Incident Panels and supporting staff with debriefs following any complex/serious incidents.
The successful candidate will hold expert clinical skills and experience in relation to supporting service users with complex mental health. You will also contribute to the development of the Community Treatment Team in line with the transformation of community services, to deliver care in innovative and flexible ways in order to meet the needs of the patients.
Person specification
Education and Qualification
* First Level Registered Nurse RNMH, RMN, RNLD or equivalent first level qualification e.g. Social Worker, OT, Clinical Psychologist, other.
* Skills and experience in treatment of those with MH issues.
* Degree or equivalent qualification or experience in evidence-based treatments relevant to Pathway.
* ENB 998/P126/127 Student Assessor.
* Safeguarding Children and Adults Training.
Knowledge and experience
* Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team. Experience in managing Complex Cases and Risk.
* Commitment to Partnership working both multi-agency and multi-disciplinary.
* Experience of collaborative working across agencies and professional disciplines.
* Coordinating and supporting staff in the day-to-day provision of clinical services.
* Proven ability to manage a clinical caseload in a flexible manner as required.
* Experience of providing clinical supervision to clinical staff.
Skills and competencies
* Excellent communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills including negotiation and conflict management.
* Evidence of effective organisational skills.
* Evidence of maintaining accurate and contemporaneous record keeping.
* Evidence of excellent Report writing.
* Evidence-based clinical skills.
