Job summary Working within the Renal Department you will provide comprehensive administration and reception support to all Renal Units, Outpatient Clinics, and Inpatient Wards. You must possess an RSA 2 clerical qualification or equivalent experience; experience of working in a hospital would be desirable. You must possess good communication skills; have the ability to effectively work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative, proven organisational skills and a strong commitment to personal and professional development. Working pattern will be on rota basis, reception cover is required Monday - Saturday 7:00am-6.00pm. There will a requirement on a Rota system for a flexible working approach to provide when required reception cover at other Renal sites. Main duties of the job The Outpatient Clinic Admin Clerk/Receptionist will be responsible for providing clinic administration and reception support to patients attending Outpatient Clinics; this will include receiving and greeting patients into clinic areas whilst recording the patient's attendance and clinical outcome on the Patient Administration System (Patient Centre). The Outpatient Clinic Admin Clerk/Receptionist will also be responsible for providing an appointment booking service to enable patients to book future appointments when leaving the department, this role may develop into the booking of future appointments into other clinical disciplines (i.e. diagnostic). This may also involve some telephone booking of appointments and the scheduling of forthcoming appointments, from other sources of patient enquires, whilst providing a confidential, efficient patient-friendly and outside agency contact service. Integral to the role with be the maintaining of the clinic administration functions on Patient Centre ensuring that they are 'cashed up' in a timely and accurate manner at the end of each clinic session.
