We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our engineering team as a Production Engineering Technician to work on the world's first and only nanopore DNA sequencer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about new technology.
The Details...
Reporting to the Associate Director of Production Engineering, you'll work with production, external equipment suppliers, and wider Engineering teams to ensure equipment and production processes are maintained to a high standard with minimal stoppages within production. You’ll provide hands-on Engineering technical support for product manufacturing lines and processes, fault finding where needed or contacting equipment suppliers to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Undertaking planned maintenance and calibration of production manufacturing equipment, following a monthly schedule of activities.
* Providing support to resolve technical issues, ensuring all investigation work is documented with the aim to reduce cost and improve reliability while complying with current quality standards.
* Reacting quickly to production quality issues in an efficient manner using standard procedures.
* Supporting new product/process implementation and qualification activities.
* Managing calibration and maintenance schedules for the area.
* Monitoring current processing performance.
What We're Looking For...
We'll expect you to have relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or equivalent, and hands-on experience in equipment maintenance and calibration within an automated/semi-automated environment. Alongside your strong technical background, you'll be a strong communicator with the ability to discuss, prioritize, and organize activities with the wider team.
This role will suit someone who enjoys working collaboratively with others from multi-disciplinary teams, likes to take a hands-on approach, and is a proactive problem solver.
