We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to provide comprehensive administrative support for the cardiac surgery waiting list. You must have good all-round administration skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills with customer service experience, and be computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Office. You will have attention to detail and the ability to prioritise incoming work to meet deadlines.
The post will be based at Trafford General Hospital, within the Trafford Elective Hub.
Main duties of the job
* Physical Effort: Lifting and transporting heavy patient notes between various hospital departments. The post-holder will also be required to sit in a restricted position at a computer for sustained periods of time entering patient information and answering telephone queries.
* Mental Effort: Concentrating and analysing waiting list information with frequent interruptions, and responding to various enquiries from clinical, managerial, and admin & clerical staff while trying to meet specific deadlines.
* Emotional Effort: Dealing with anxious, distressed patients (or relatives) waiting for hospital treatment, and handling patient complaints concerning cancelled admissions.
* Working Conditions: Requirement to use VDU more or less continuously during the working day, and regularly answer telephone queries from patients.
