White Trees group is owned and operated by SureCare Residential Ltd. Our role as a company is to provide a home for vulnerable and complex young people who find themselves in residential care for a multitude of reasons, often completely out of their control and comprehension. It is important that you understand your role within the company as a Therapeutic Project Worker and spend as much time as possible learning about and understanding your responsibilities. It's not the individual that makes the difference in the long-term changes to a young person; it's the continuity provided through rigorous care planning, therapeutic interventions, and understanding that the consistency of the team approach is what builds brighter futures.
SCOPE OF THE POST
The Manager is required to provide effective clinical leadership, governance, and management. It is their responsibility to secure, sustain, and promote the reputation and daily operation of the home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality holistic care and creating a caring environment conducive to individual needs and practice research development within the legislative framework of quality assurance.
Leadership & Management
* Provide leadership & management to all staff, ensuring the highest possible quality of care within a safe working and living environment.
* Be a positive and effective role model for all employees, being approachable and providing a regular presence within the home.
* Set and maintain clear standards of care in line with compliance expectations.
* Lead and manage a team of staff, promoting tolerance and acceptance.
* Understand the importance of the shift pattern and on-call mechanisms, being available as required.
* Report any poor behaviour or conduct from colleagues using the whistleblowing policy.
* Work collectively with your team, prioritizing frameworks and care planning.
* Develop a culture of continuous quality improvement.
* Maintain a comprehensive induction process for all new employees.
* Ensure that organization codes of professional conduct are always followed.
* Take responsibility for the delivery of professional, competent, and high-quality care.
* Conduct regular reviews with new employees during their probationary period.
* Ensure all staff are annually appraised and manage under-performance through objective setting and regular reviews.
* Ensure complaints and suggestions are positively actioned.
* Identify individual service needs in line with the home’s annual development plan.
* Facilitate regular consultations with staff, young people, and stakeholders.
Main Duties - In the Home
* Ensure that agreed quality assurance initiatives are implemented within the home.
* Liaise with regulators and local authorities to maintain satisfactory standards.
* Be the Lead for the home and work collaboratively with the Company’s department heads.
* Provide improvement, independence, and choice for all young people.
* Manage the effective use of resources and maintain full occupancy.
* Comply with all regulatory requirements.
* Ensure policy and procedures are implemented and understood by all staff.
* Engage with Wellbeing Services to provide therapeutic interventions & support.
* Ensure the home meets the individual needs of the young people.
* Maintain the schedule of maintenance in line with health and safety expectations.
Main Duties – Care Planning
* Ensure all children & young people have an up-to-date care plan.
* Identify and action risks associated with care.
* Monitor the delivery of care given by all staff.
* Ensure compliance with the legislative regulatory framework.
* Arrange a regular program of activities based on young people’s interests.
* Ensure a balanced nutritional diet for young people.
* Implement a key worker system for all young people.
* Ensure quality assurance systems reflect the expected standard of service.
* Conduct regular reviews and consultations with relevant parties.
* Follow the admission policy and conduct pre-admission assessments.
* Manage the storage, handling, and administration of medications.
* Ensure the protection and safety of young people through regular checks.
* Complete the staff rota and ensure staffing ratios meet needs.
* Coordinate annual leave requests in line with policy.
* Monitor and manage sickness and absence through interviews.
* Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and relevant legislation.
* Participate in safer recruitment and selection of staff.
* Liaise effectively with Head Office Departments.
* Ensure all young people have a copy of the young people’s handbook.
External Relationships and Partnerships
* Attend Manager’s Meetings as required.
* Establish and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders.
* Report serious incidents affecting young people's wellbeing within 24 hours.
* Welcome and be courteous to all visitors, ensuring safeguard procedures are followed.
* Conduct audits and manage quality assurances as required.
Main Duties – Policies
* Understand the legal requirements of Ofsted and ensure compliance.
* Have a full understanding of all SureCare Residential Homes policies.
* Promote and represent the company ethos and values at all times.
Personal Specification
* Be resilient, kind, caring, professional, and understanding in challenging situations.
* Utilize Wellbeing resources to support challenges.
Training & Experience
* Successfully register with Ofsted.
* Hold DSL within the home and manage safeguard reporting.
* Participate in regular supervisions for CPD.
* Complete White Trees Induction Programme.
* Complete NFPS Physical Intervention and Behaviour Management Training.
* Stay up-to-date with mandatory training.
* Engage in networking meetings and CPD sessions.
* Have at least 2 years’ experience in leading and managing a team.
* Hold a Level 5 diploma in Leadership & Management or enroll to achieve this.
