What the school offers its staff
Opened in September 2021, Overdale Community Primary School is a modern, purpose-built school in Eastfield. Our state-of-the-art facilities enhance both academic learning and community value.
Our headteacher has high expectations, ensuring a safe, inspiring, and challenging environment for children to reach their potential. Staff wellbeing is a priority, with a collaborative approach to maximize each other's skills and drive school improvement.
Supported by experienced staff, supportive parents/carers, a strong Governing Body, and a proud local community, we provide a nurturing setting where pupils are polite, happy, confident, and friendly.
We have recently launched '50 Things to Do Before 11 ¾', a set of exciting activities designed for children before they transition to secondary school.
We hold high aspirations for our pupils and are dedicated to enriching their experiences beyond the standard curriculum. By helping them develop their own interests, partake in memorable experiences, and encouraging them to dream and plan for their futures, we aim to inspire them. Early consideration of their passions and interests can guide them to focus on curriculum areas that will serve as steppingstones to their life goals. Today's science lessons could pave the way for them to become the scientists and engineers of tomorrow.
School Therapy Dog
At Overdale School we work hard to ensure that our children feel like school is a home from home. A place they can learn, thrive and be happy. That is why we now have our school therapy dog, Buddy. Buddy has been a fantastic addition to our school for our children and our staff. Our pupils love to come and see Buddy and he has an immediate calming effect on our children who might be having a bad day or just need a cuddle. We are seeing lots of benefits already of having our school dog. Improving attendance, a calmer environment, support for our ASD children and much more. His hypoallergenic fur has given children the opportunity to be around a dog and not suffer from a reaction.
Having a dog in school has the potential to help young children to develop in a range of academic, personal and social areas.
He is very much a part of our Overdale family, and we love having him around school.
We can offer you:
• A supportive, cohesive community – relationships throughout the school are welcoming, kind, inclusive and thoughtful
• A vibrant, happy school where we value everyone and have a philosophy of kindness and support for each other.
• Children who are enthusiastic about learning and apply our school logo to every day: we listen, we learn, we shine.
• A school with an exciting and attractive learning environment.
• A leadership team who welcome fresh ideas, traditional values and a sense of teamwork.
• Well supported teachers and support professionals who are committed to driving high standards.
• An excellent working environment in a beautiful coastal setting
