Job summary We are looking to recruit Bank Cooks to become part of our team of valued bank staff. You should be qualified to City & Guilds 706/2 or NVQ Level 3 in food preparation or have equivalent experience and also hold a current intermediate food hygiene qualification and have allergen awareness knowledge. Experience of NHS Catering would be an advantage although not essential. You should be enthusiastic, friendly and be flexible to help cover additional shifts, when required, to support service delivery within our Catering Department on an as and when basis. The Catering Department have a variety of shift patterns over a 7-day period between the hours of 06.00-20.00. Shift patterns can be between 0600-1400, 08.00-1600 or 12.00-20.00. Previous experience would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided. You must have excellent customer skills, work well as a part of a team and have a flexible and adaptable approach to duties. Main duties of the job Main duties include preparation and cooking of hot & cold foods for patients, staff, visitors, functions and on-site nursery. You must also follow hygiene practices within the kitchen to include temperature controls of all products, cleaning and other general duties.
