This position is open to both Sydney and Melbourne-based candidates.
Your opportunity
In this role, you will work as part of our Fund Operations Team covering all aspects of Fund Administration and Unit Registry functions for the suite of funds offered by Janus Henderson in Australia. We work closely with other business teams and appointed service providers covering key functions in delivering services to our investors.
You will be involved in:
1. Unit pricing: Oversight and monitoring of fund unit prices with daily, weekly, and monthly deliverables relating to fund valuations.
2. Distributions and Tax: Oversight and monitoring of distribution calculations and processes and relevant tax matters for the funds. Key aspects include planning distribution timetables, reviewing calculations, liaising with internal teams, running regular distribution processes, facilitating external audits, and resolving queries.
3. Financial reporting and fund audits: Oversight and monitoring of half-year and full-year financial statement audits. Key aspects include audit planning, reviewing proformas and draft financials, coordinating between involved third parties, resolving queries, and reporting to management within our business.
4. Other: Generally assisting with all items relating to Fund Operations and supporting business teams across Investment, Product, Distribution, Compliance, and Finance. Responding to RFIs and investor queries.
Unit Registry
1. Register maintenance and transaction processing: Oversight and monitoring of the funds' unit registers and daily transaction processing. Our team works closely with our service provider to ensure transactions are processed correctly and cash flows are reported in a timely manner.
2. Investor queries and escalations: We work closely with our service provider to address all escalations and resolve queries from investors.
Business projects and change initiatives
1. Project management: On-going change in our environment (product, operational, regulatory) drives a stream of projects to manage whilst supporting day-to-day operations. Our team works with a pro-active mindset to identify and champion areas for improvement in workflows and processes, map workflows, maintain project logs to track progress, and coordinate with our service providers to achieve project goals.
Third party administration
1. Governance processes: Our Operating model relies on key relationships with third parties to deliver services to our investors. A strong Governance framework exists to ensure accuracy in outputs and compliance with regulatory obligations. Our team plays an important role in governing these relationships through daily interactions, monitoring processes, weekly service calls, and monthly review meetings with our service providers.
2. Your role may require you to interact with other JHI offices, employees, and third parties based in different time zones, outside of core business hours, such as the UK, USA, and Asia.
3. Your role may also include other duties as assigned by your Manager.

Must have skills
1. Experience working in funds management with exposure to different asset classes.
