We are seeking a passionate person, who is committed to providing quality care to pregnant women and their families, to join our dedicated healthcare team as part of our Antenatal Clinic. As an antenatal clinic maternity support worker, you will be involved in providing comprehensive care to expectant mothers during the antenatal period. The primary role of the Maternity Support Worker (MSW) is to assist, support and work in collaboration with the midwife and the wider multidisciplinary team; to provide a safe and holistic approach to woman centred care.
You will be provided with an induction programme and full training to fulfil the role requirements.
This is a permanent post 17 hours per week.
West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for providing personalised care to approximately 2,400 women during their childbirth experience., · Support midwives in providing care for women and their families within the maternity services.
· Perform and record physiological measurements and report these accurately to the midwife
· Provide personalised antenatal education and support to expectant mothers and their families
· Promote public health issues
· Prepare clinical areas
· Liaise with multidisciplinary teams including senior medical staff, other departments within the trust as well as outside agencies, for women who have complex medical or obstetric needs.
· Undertake phlebotomy as requested by the midwife.
· Inform parents about the benefits of breastfeeding
· Promote choice, wellbeing and the protection of all individuals
