We are excited to offer a rare opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Lead Paediatric Specialist Pharmacist to join the Woman's and Children's Pharmacy at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.
This is a new position within the Paediatric medical specialties team which intends to provide leadership over a skilled and experienced team to enable further development of the services offered to the bulk of paediatric specialties. We are looking for a dynamic and innovative leader to work with the team in developing and implementing a long-term strategy for growth and improvement.
The successful candidate will be a member of our clinical pharmacy team providing Pharmaceutical care to Medical Specialties as part of the multidisciplinary team, based within Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. The post holder will be the pharmacy team lead for the medical specialties team, overseeing the clinical pharmacy service for a number of paediatric specialties including general paediatrics, neurology, neurosurgery, renal, respiratory, and palliative care. This post will also have regular exposure and responsibility for a number of local, regional and national level projects and workstreams, working as part of the BRHC Pharmacy Leadership Team. The post holder will be expected to provide the clinical service to a minimum of one paediatric specialty to be agreed through the recruitment process.
Main duties of the job
* Lead the medical specialties paediatric pharmacy team, providing leadership, support, and oversight of the clinical pharmacy service to paediatric inpatient medical specialties and additional areas such as Children's Emergency Department, Daycase, Homecare, Community Paediatrics, and Outpatient Clinics.
* Provide the Clinical Pharmacy service to paediatric specialties or areas as agreed in the recruitment process.
* Deputise for the Associate Director of Pharmacy (Lead Pharmacist: Woman and Children's) as part of the BRHC Pharmacy Leadership Team.
* Work alongside the multidisciplinary team including nursing staff, doctors and other healthcare professionals to provide excellent inpatient care.
* Support and train junior staff as they develop their knowledge and skills.
The Woman and Children's Pharmacy team spans across two adjacently located hospital sites providing care to women, children, and neonates. You will be working as part of a well-supported team of clinical pharmacists driving the development of clinical and operational services to your patient group.

Qualifications and Training
* Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council for Pharmacists
* Post Graduate Clinical Diploma in Pharmacy or equivalent
* Member of the Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacists Group (NPPG)
* Leadership or Management Training/Qualification
Knowledge and Experience
* Post registration UK Clinical Pharmacy Experience
* Experience in the delivery of pharmacy clinical service to paediatric patients
* Evidence of Sound Clinical Pharmacy Methods
* Experience of Staff Management/supervision/mentoring
* Experience of Teaching/presenting
* Experience in clinical management of paediatric patients
