About the role
Seasonal Street Cleansing Operatives are needed to keep all parts of the city clean for residents and visitors. This could involve emptying bins, sweeping, weeding, litter picking, or cleaning up the beach, to name just a few tasks. The position is fixed term for 6 months, mainly involving shift work in city centre, beach, and residential areas. Two shift patterns are available:
* Central AM: 05:00 - 13:00
* Central PM: 13:40 - 22:00
Training, equipment, and uniform will be provided. Special qualifications are not required for these positions. We are looking for reliable, hard-working people with a passion and commitment for keeping the city centre, suburbs, and the beach a safe place for everyone to enjoy.
The job involves:
* Litter-picking on the beach, city center, and residential areas
* Emptying bins
* Clearing weeds
* Deep cleaning
* Sweeping
* Pushing a barrow
* Walking long distances (7-10 miles a day)
* Lifting and carrying awkward objects and heavy loads
* Interacting with members of the public
You don’t need any special qualifications for this work.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
