Clinical Lead/Senior Children's Physiotherapist– 22.5 hours/week (Monday–Friday)
Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) has an exciting opportunity for a motivated physiotherapist with strong communication and organisational skills to join the Paediatric Physiotherapy team at Worthing Child Development Centre, Worthing Hospital.
We seek a candidate to start mid-July for a one-year career break cover, working three days a week. However, flexibility is available for the right applicant. We welcome applications from experienced Band 6 or Band 7 physiotherapists interested in joining our supportive team. Please indicate your preferred band and working hours in your application.
The Paediatric Physiotherapy service provide expert assessment, treatment and advice to children and young people between 0 and 19 years of age with neuro-developmental and musculoskeletal conditions and neuro-disability. The post-holder will also be required to demonstrate strong leadership skills to facilitate service development and operational support across the physiotherapy team. The service works closely with the wider multidisciplinary team, families, carers, other healthcare professionals, and educational staff ,including school and early years settings staff.
We offer regular in-service training, peer supervision and clinical support. There are dedicated paediatric special interest groups and the Paediatric Physiotherapy service is supported by a Countywide Professional Lead.
A job plan will be created by your line manager in line with the service blueprint and discussed with you. It will be reviewed annually at your PDR and updated as required. The main tasks you will spend your time doing are:
1. To provide specialist clinical assessment and intervention for a mixed caseload of children, including management of postural and orthopaedic conditions.
2. To support and supervise more junior members of staff with, caseload management, clinical skills and prioritisation.
3. To support undergraduate physiotherapy therapy student placements within the relevant areas of work and support other staff supervising the students.
4. To provide performance information to service managers to support the delivery of KPIs, management of demand and capacity and to inform future workforce, skill mix requirements and service development.
5. To report and manage incidents and complaints to reduce risk. To share learning from incidents and risk with the team and wider organisation as appropriate.
6. To organise and deliver in service training to clinical staff and to the wider MDT as appropriate.
7. To be responsible for ensuring effective induction for all staff within the area of responsibility and relevant students.
