Minimum Requirements:
* HNC/HND/Degree qualified or relevant experience in Quality Management.
* Welding, NDT and inspection competencies (PCN Levels 2 or 3)
* Full driving licence and willing to travel, CSCS Card (relevant type) DBS check will be required prior to appointment.
* Very solid experience in a Quality role in the construction industry on large infrastructure projects or equivalent, comparable industry/projects.
* Chartered Member of CQI (MCQI CQP) IRCA recognised ISO 9001 Auditor qualification.
* Strong demonstrable leadership skills are essential along with managing teams.
* Ability to take direction from line managers and senior members of staff whilst also being able to communicate and influence change.
* Strategic minded with excellent organisation, communication and time management skills.
* Team player with ability to coach and mentor others as required.
* Proficient in standard computer programmes including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities:
To co-ordinate all activities required to direct and control quality. In particular to review quality as per Client requirements, to ensure that those requirements are understood and implemented to manage the quality of the delivered project.
* Deputise for the Senior Quality Manager, as required.
* Surveillance of activities supporting the Project Quality Plan and Contractors Quality Plans / Inspection and Test Plans.
* Manage and support Project teams in the development of Inspection & Test Plans/Quality Checklists.
* Manage the welding arrangements and inspection activities.
* Co-ordinate the quality surveillance activities in line with the Inspection & Test Plans, and ensure capability to carry out the activities, with the right competencies.
* Work closely with the site engineers to ensure the Quality process is being carried out on site.
* Manage and carry out regular inspections/audits to determine whether work is being carried out in accordance with Quality Policy, Procedures and other stated requirements.
* Maintain records as necessary to ensure compliance with Company procedures and Contract Requirements, to be delivered as part of handover arrangements.
* Coordinate and manage closure of non-conformities or performance improvement actions.
* Provide Quality input into the Supplier pre-qualification process where required.
* Review of documentation such as Quality Plans, including documents originated by Contractors.
* Provide reports, presentations and information as directed by the Business / Quality function.
* Manage the dissemination of information issued by the Quality & Assurance function to relevant employees.
