To provide comprehensive administration services to support all functions of the Audiology Department in delivering an effective service and to support patients and patient carers.
The post holder will be required to undertake a range of tasks working in a busy department, including effective referral management, accurate data input on the relevant clinical system/s, processing of referrals, uploading and processing of clinical information, the use of electronic call handling systems, validation of patients, completing monthly charging data, the use of the department scripts and procedures and involvement in service improvement projects on an ad hoc basis.
To answer all telephone calls to the department, taking concise messages and redirecting queries to the appropriate person using available information and initiative.
Support and manage all patient and service related queries coming to the department via telephone calls, emails and letters.
Support and manage patient referrals from other specialist’s services within the trust.
To scan and email all non GP referrals to patient access centre in a timely manner.
To use electronic patient management system (Auditbase) to register, process, check, update patient’s demographics.
To transfer daily clinician clinic lists from Trust PAS system to Audiology patient management system for all sites.
To alert the Patient Pathway Coordinator of any gaps in the diary ensuring clinic utilisation is efficient.
To change/reschedule appointments at short notice due to staff sickness, meeting, training etc.
To complete monthly validation reports for the service and to arrange appointments as necessary.
To change patient appointments in appropriate clinics in line with the RTT waiting times.
