The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service dedicated to the nuclear industry. We’re looking for a Contracts Officer to join our in-house Procurement team to scope, evaluate, award, and manage a broad range of contracts – helping customers to realise their needs through providing professional advice and support. You’ll take overall responsibility for delivering a professional advice service, dealing with contractual arrangements, including the management of the tendering process, ensuring compliance with due process including scoping requirements, producing evaluation schemes, evaluating returns, and awarding of contracts. You’ll research and identify potential areas of supply for new contracts and framework agreements and use your excellent stakeholder management experience to negotiate with suppliers and award agreements.
A proactive communicator, you will support and provide expertise to Project Managers and handle the contractual aspects of projects, making informed recommendations. You’ll monitor spending on low-value, high-volume items, and high-value contracts. Within all of this, you’ll work to internal and Government guidelines and the Procurement Act 2023.
If you are a Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) or actively studying towards the qualification with experience of commercial and public sector procurement, then this could be the role for you. You should be able to understand and take care of procurement issues relevant to the Public Sector and have experience of successfully negotiating and managing contracts with a working understanding of contract law. You’ll be a great communicator and able to develop excellent working relationships by providing professional guidance and developing successful strategies.

This role has been assessed as suitable for hybrid working with a 60% / 40% split of home and office working, details of which will be discussed and agreed with the successful individual.
