As a result of organisation growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Operations Manager to join our Urgent Care team on a full-time, permanent basis.
The Assistant Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our Urgent Care Bases and play a pivotal role in overseeing Medicines Management practices, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and working closely with the clinical leadership team. This role supports the Operations Manager to ensure the smooth running of our Bases and our Urgent Care Assistant Team to deliver high-quality services to our patients.
In addition, the Assistant Operations Manager will work closely with our Medicines Management Lead to ensure that the bases are stocked appropriately, and processes and procedures are adhered to by the team.
Please be aware that this is a full-time position with fixed hours. We are happy to share the available rota pattern upon receipt of your formal application.
About the role
You’ll be a highly motivated individual, with experience managing teams, ideally in a healthcare setting. You’ll be an excellent communicator, who can foster positive relationships with team members and key stakeholders. You will have a flexible and common-sense approach to problem-solving and have strong organisational time management skills.
You’ll also be passionate about patient care and the impact that the non-clinical team can have on delivering high-quality services for our patients.
Key tasks will include ensuring our medicines management processes are adhered to, rota management, supervision and training of staff, identification and resolution of operational issues and incidents, as well as supporting the development and implementation of new processes and procedures.
Day to day, your duties will also include but not be limited to:
1. Leading the Urgent Care operational teams (non-clinical) providing support, mentoring and feedback.
2. Delivering on innovative ways of working and working as flexibly as the service requires, improving the quality of clinical standards through operational support and service delivery.
3. Working with the Clinical Leadership Team to develop and implement new policies or guidelines for effective resource use.
4. Improve medicine management processes, to include working as an active member of the Medicines Management and Infection Prevention and Control committees.
About You
The ideal candidate will be able to:
1. Work autonomously and possess the knowledge and intuition to assist both external and internal stakeholders in achieving the appropriate outcome.
2. Remain calm and focused on service delivery at all times, especially during unpredictable workloads.
3. Maintain a good working knowledge of key Medvivo policies and procedures relating specifically to the service ensuring the team adheres to procedures.
4. Communicate with all stakeholders confidently, knowledgeably and courteously at all times.
5. Have or be willing to develop an in-depth knowledge of the Medicine Management process.
6. Possess experience or transferable skills relating to overseeing controlled drug audit checks.
7. Demonstrate an ability to develop policies, procedures and SOPs where appropriate.
