Semi Senior Accountant Vacancy For Rapidly Expanding and Reputable Practice
As a Semi-Senior Accountant in practice, you will be responsible for providing accounting, tax, and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients. You will support the Senior Accountants and Managers in delivering a high standard of service while gaining exposure to a range of tasks across bookkeeping, financial reporting, VAT, and tax compliance. Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of Financial Statements: Assist in the preparation of financial statements for clients in accordance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or UK GAAP).
* Bookkeeping: Perform bookkeeping tasks for clients, including maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring transactions are recorded in compliance with relevant standards.
* VAT Returns: Prepare VAT returns and assist clients with VAT compliance matters.
* Tax Compliance: Assist with the preparation of corporate and personal tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws.
* Client Liaison: Act as a point of contact for clients, addressing queries and providing assistance with financial matters.
* Audit Support: Assist with the audit process, including preparing audit files and supporting senior staff in the audit of financial statements.
* Ad hoc duties: Assist with any ad hoc accounting, bookkeeping, or tax-related tasks as needed.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
* Part-qualified accountant (AAT/ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with experience in a practice environment.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
* Experience with bookkeeping software and accounting systems (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with clients and provide excellent service.
* Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in audit is desirable but not essential.
* Working knowledge of accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Kashflow, and Quickbooks. Training and guidance will be provided if you are unfamiliar with a product.
* Experience working with a range of industries and clients.
