Role Description Partners Capital are looking for an experienced Research Associate to join our Private Debt asset class team. The Research Associate will be responsible for supporting the team with sourcing new managers and performing due diligence on new investment ideas. They will understand the broader investment environment as it pertains to credit and private debt investments, manage and evaluate existing investments, and help act as a liaison between the research team and client portfolio managers. The Research Associate will form a key part of the asset class research team, whose primary goal is to deliver superior risk-adjusted performance over the long-term to our clients. Our asset class research team also supports the growth and development of the business. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the below. Evolve and clearly articulate the firm’s investment strategy, and identify and evaluate attractive market niches Support the team with the articulation of ideal manager specifications, proprietary mandate parameters or direct investment approaches for target areas Develop relationships with investment managers, allocators and intermediaries to source investment opportunities, and conduct robust screens to identify the best teams within target strategies Help to perform rigorous due diligence of asset managers and other investment opportunities by working alongside other senior members of the asset class team Participate in key diligence activities including qualitative and quantitative analysis of a manager’s portfolio, performance, strategy and team. The diligence process concludes with a detailed presentation to our internal Investment Committee Own ongoing diligence and monitoring of investment manager and opportunities Support with advising internal client teams on the overarching strategy within asset classes, manager selection and portfolio construction Be responsible for ensuring all information security processes, policies and procedures are adhered to and any issues or concerns are raised with the Cyber Security team Ensure full compliance with all local data protection regulations and privacy controls, and any related issues are raised via the appropriate channels Key Requirements Experience working within Investment or Asset Management, preferably in an external manager selection, direct investment or research based role Strong due diligence skills and a demonstrable passion for investing A detail orientated approach with an appetite for tackling challenging and intricate projects Clear communication skills with the ability to engage with both internal and external stakeholders across all levels A dynamic, collaborative and entrepreneurial approach to work and comfortable working in a fast paced and high energy environment A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, and a strong academic record A highly analytical approach to tasks with a proactive and motivated work ethic Completed, or the appetite to study towards, CFA qualifications Remuneration Partners Capital is committed to being a great place to work.
