Special Needs Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teacher to join our dynamic team in Maidstone. This role is ideal for a compassionate professional who is committed to teaching students with special educational needs. The successful candidate will lead lessons across a variety of classes, tailored to the unique requirements of each student.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences for special needs students.
* Develop schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives specific for SEN.
* Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
* Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
* Observe and evaluate student performance and development.
* Provide appropriate feedback on work.
* Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
* Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
* Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws and school policies.
* Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
* Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
* Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
* Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
* Current DBS check in date or registered on the update service.
* Proven experience as a Special Needs Teacher or similar role.
* Strong knowledge of the curriculum and SEN strategies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Good organisational and time-management skills.
* Great empathy and resilience with the ability to motivate students.
