St Margaret’s Collier Street C of E Primary School is a happy, caring, and nurturing school where every child is supported to reach their full potential – ‘growing as we learn, learning as we grow. Rooted in Jesus.’
We are looking for an inspirational and dedicated leader to continue building on our school’s strong foundations and take us into the next exciting phase. After 20 years of exceptional leadership, our current Headteacher is retiring, leaving behind a well-established, thriving school that is highly regarded in the community. We are looking for someone who can continue to build on our strengths while bringing fresh ideas and energy to our school.
We warmly welcome applications from both experienced Headteachers and those looking to take the next step in their careers, into their first headship. If you are a passionate and driven leader ready to make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
With 121 pupils, St Margaret’s is a small, close-knit school set in beautiful surroundings, opposite the local village church and with access to ample outdoor learning spaces, including a Forest School, spiritual garden, and vegetable plot. Financial planning and management has long been a strength of the school. Attendance and attainment and progress data are strong and typically above both national and Kent average and we have a well above average percentage of children with SEND.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
1. Be able to think and plan strategically with a clear vision and always with the child at the centre.
2. Develop and maintain the school’s Christian distinctiveness whilst respecting other faiths.
3. Have outstanding communication skills with the ability to interact, inspire and collaborate across a range of stakeholders and social groups.
4. Be an excellent people-manager who has experience of successfully motivating staff to develop their skills and maximise their career potential.
5. Be able to effectively manage financial planning, deploying budgets and resources to ensure the school remains financially sustainable.
6. Demonstrate consistently high levels of dedication and commitment whilst maintaining their own well-being and a work life balance.
What We Can Offer:
1. Happy children who feel safe and nurtured and inspired to learn.
2. Experienced and settled staff.
3. Close and supportive links with the Church.
4. Supportive and effective governance.
5. A collaborative approach to well-being with a staff well-being and mental health lead.
6. A secure financial position and future of the school.
7. Scope to further enrich the education of our children and make a significant impact with exciting new projects.
8. Collaboration with two other local Church schools with opportunities for sharing mentoring, training and resources.
Come and Visit Us!
We warmly invite prospective candidates to visit St Margaret’s, meet our wonderful children and staff, and experience our vibrant school community firsthand. We would love the opportunity to show you what makes our school such a special place to learn and grow.
