As a Violence Prevention and Reduction Project Manager, you have a key role in overseeing the delivery of the project and programme portfolio across the Sussex system for Violence Prevention and Reduction of staff. This includes working across the six Sussex NHS Trusts to coordinate the system's response to the national violence prevention and reduction standards. The successful candidate will provide effective Project Management and strong technical knowledge to help deliver this project and be committed to working in a role that provides a positive effect on patient, staff and visitor experiences across Sussex Hospitals.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have a key role in overseeing the delivery of the project and programme portfolio across the Sussex system for Violence Prevention and Reduction. This includes working across the six Sussex NHS Trusts to coordinate the system’s response to the national violence prevention and reduction standards.
National health policy is driving an unprecedented period of service redesign and change aiming to secure both quality improvement and financial sustainability. One such change is focused on the prevention and reduction of violent incidents against NHS staff. Provide oversight at a system wide level relating to violence prevention and reduction.
Sussex HCP has begun a system-wide programme of work to implement the NHSE Violence Prevention and Reduction programme. The post holder will report to the Senior Responsible officer for the project and work closely with the Violence Prevention and Reduction leads across Sussex. The post holder will be responsible for taking an operational lead in the planning and delivery of the Sussex HCP Violence Prevention and Reduction Programme objectives, working across corporate, clinical, and operational teams, and across sectors, to ensure outputs to time, quality, and budget.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Educated to Post-graduate degree level in relevant subject or able to demonstrate specialist knowledge within this field through practical experience.
* Further training or significant experience in project management, financial management or supporting change management processes.
* Project management qualifications such as PRINCE 2, MSP, Agile or equivalent.
* Evidence of extensive continued professional development in a variety of professional disciplines.
Experience
* Up to date knowledge of the context that the NHS is working within and an appreciation of the challenges that the NHS faces in the next 2 years.
* Demonstrable specialist knowledge in a relevant discipline.
* Extensive project management experience with demonstrable record of accomplishment of success in a complex organisation.
* Demonstrated experience in a Healthcare environment. Business case assessment.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of Financial Systems e.g. monitoring budget management, processing invoices and procurement.
* Must be able to deal with differing priorities and deal with them resolutely and in a professional manner.
* Understanding of the public sector.
* Knowledge and experience of working within large transformation projects in a complex organisation.
Skills
* Strong administrative skills to allow for effective identification and resolution of competing demands across service areas and localities.
* Advanced communicator with excellent written and presentation skills; capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately to a diverse and varied range of audiences consisting of internal and external stakeholders.
* Demonstrated capabilities to manage own workload and make informed decisions in the absence of required information, working to tight and often changing timescales.
* Ability to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communications for dissemination to senior stakeholders and a broad range of stakeholders as required.
