The role The Design Director is a new and strategic leadership role within the Built Environment Team at SNG - building on and learning from the strong foundations of the Home and Place standard - with a view to creating high-quality, future proofed, climate-resilient, nature-positive homes and great placemaking that will be the catalyst for thriving sustainable communities for future generations.? ?The Design Director will champion, educate and support three operating regions in this regard and - working with Development colleagues in a collaborative and supportive manner – to understand and instruct good quality design, leaving a positive impact on our communities and planet.? What we're looking for ARB-Registered Architect with strong Urban Design and Placemaking pedigree and a time-served record delivering high-quality residential and mixed-use urban developments, with working with commercial developers. Strong architectural experience designing the built-form and meeting regulatory standards. Demonstrable experience of understanding and working within the constraints and opportunities of cost and viability in the residential development arena. Experience of design review, whether in formal and informal settings and to internal and external stakeholders. Understands sustainability in all its forms and has track record of having delivered the same. Leadership skills aligned to SNG's values and leadership behaviours, fostering an environment of trust, transparency, inclusion, and employee wellbeing. Highly collaborative with multiple internal stakeholders at all levels. Excellent communicator with a good external network in the design field.
