Sales Director – Offshore Windfarms
A leading provider of private 5G and wireless solutions is seeking a Sales Director to drive business development and market expansion in the offshore windfarm sector across the UK and Ireland. This is a pivotal role for an experienced commercial leader with a strong background in wireless communications and strategic sales within the offshore energy industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the go-to-market strategy for wireless solutions in the offshore wind sector.
* Develop and execute a market penetration plan, engaging directly with windfarm operators, Tier 1 contractors, turbine manufacturers, and strategic partners.
* Build and maintain high-value relationships with key decision-makers, ensuring long-term commercial success.
* Drive revenue growth through direct sales, partnerships, and framework agreements.
* Work closely with pre-sales and technical teams to develop winning proposals and innovative solutions.
* Represent the company as a thought leader in offshore wireless connectivity, advocating for best-in-class technology adoption.
* Oversee commercial negotiations, contract development, and risk assessment to secure profitable agreements.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
* Proven track record in business development and sales of wireless systems (Tetra, Wi-Fi, LTE, Private 5G) to windfarm operators.
* Strong experience in strategic sales, complex stakeholder engagement, and navigating contract negotiations with C-suite and board-level stakeholders.
* Deep understanding of the offshore wind sector, telecommunications infrastructure, and regulatory landscape.
* Commercial and financial acumen, including contract structuring, economic modelling, and risk assessment.
* Ability to develop and execute strategic sales methodologies, bid writing, and formal RFP processes.
* Background in engineering, project management, or technical sales is advantageous.
Performance Measures:
* Achievement of new business and total contract value (TCV) targets.
* Expansion of the opportunity pipeline and successful market penetration.
* High levels of customer satisfaction and long-term relationship building.
