Purchasing Coordinator, Salary, £28,000 per annum
Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to join their Materials & Planning team. As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely delivery of materials and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers.
What the role looks like:
1. Ordering materials using the MRP system as required
2. Supplier management, including monitoring quality and performance
3. Resolving issues quickly and effectively
4. Communicating with operational, customer service, and sales teams
5. Collaborating closely with the Sales Office team and other internal and external stakeholders
6. Working towards and reporting on departmental KPIs
7. Scheduling raw materials, finished goods, and packaging
8. Adhering to stock budgets and delivery requirements
9. Maintaining accurate part numbers and pricing in the AS400 system
10. Coordinating with suppliers to address any active complaints
11. Supporting new product introductions and managing associated stock levels
12. Providing product availability information to the Customer Services Team
13. Conducting month-end reporting
14. Assisting with sourcing suppliers for one-off requirements
15. Coordinating delivery and collection of products with suppliers
What we would like you to bring:
1. Excellent organisational and analytical skills
2. Ability to build strong relationships with suppliers
3. Good engineering/manufacturing production knowledge
4. Previous negotiating and supplier management experience (preferred)
5. Strong prioritisation skills and ability to meet deadlines
6. Ability to work well in a small team and proficient IT skills
