Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Midwife to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to expectant mothers throughout their pregnancy, labour, and postpartum periods. This role requires a strong ability to communicate effectively with patients and their families, as well as collaboration with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for mothers and infants.
Duties
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of pregnant women, including physical examinations and medical histories.
* Provide prenatal education and counselling to expectant mothers regarding pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care.
* Assist in the delivery process, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and child.
* Monitor the health of mothers and infants during labour and after delivery, providing necessary interventions as required.
* Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
* Collaborate with obstetricians, paediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans.
* Offer emotional support to families during the childbirth experience, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
* Stay updated on advancements in midwifery practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse (RN) qualification with a midwifery specialisation or equivalent certification.
* Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and colleagues.
* Proficient in IT systems for maintaining patient records and managing healthcare documentation.
* Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Previous experience in maternity care is preferred but not essential for newly qualified midwives eager to learn.
