Job overview
To work as part of the new Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) service who provide clinical expertise which ensures clinical excellence underpinned by evidence-based practice.
Treatment will be provided in an outpatient setting or in the patient’s own home working alongside our existing community services such as DAART and Virtual Ward.
Main duties of the job
* To ensure that personal professional practice meets and exceeds the standards set for provision of patient care.
* Regularly take charge of a clinical area, including the assessment of patient care needs.
* To act as the OPAT co-ordinator in the absence of senior personnel.
* To provide professional leadership and support to nursing colleagues.
* To assist with supervising and assessing student nurses.
* To maintain effective communication with various disciplines, relatives, patients, and outside agencies.

Training & Qualifications
* RGN NMC Registered
Experience
* Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary/multi-agency health/social care environment.
* Experience with Intravenous Antibiotic treatment and physical assessment.
Knowledge & Skills
* Able to assess, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
* Evidence of personal and professional development.
* Good knowledge of profession-specific core skills and processes.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
