General Manager Machining Operation Circa £70k Great Package Onsite Full-Time An established UK-based multi-site manufacturing group is seeking a motivated and capable General Manager to lead a key machining facility. Reporting directly to the Exec team, this is a role offering the opportunity to oversee operations, driving performance and growth of the business. The role is open to experienced General Managers or individuals ready to take their first step into a senior leadership position, provided they have the necessary skills and experience to succeed. The Role: Take full accountability for the site’s performance, encompassing production, quality, health & safety, and financial results. Develop and implement strategies to ensure the site’s alignment with the broader objectives of the group. Deliver operational excellence in the machining of alloy-critical components for industries such as aerospace, defense, and automotive. Ensure compliance with stringent regulatory standards while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction and delivery. Build and manage high-performing teams across all departments, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Serve as the key link between the site and the group leadership team, ensuring effective communication and alignment on objectives. The Person: Experience in machining or manufacturing operations, ideally with exposure to regulated industries such as aerospace, defence, or automotive. Knowledge of CNC machining processes, particularly in the production of exotic alloy components, is highly desirable. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and deliver results. Proven capability in operational performance management and driving efficiency improvements. A strategic thinker with commercial acumen and the ability to work effectively in a multi-site business structure.
