We are currently seeking passionate and knowledgeable Course Developers to design content and teaching materials for a range of exciting new courses. This role involves crafting comprehensive schemes of work, developing assessment strategies, and creating engaging teaching and learning resources, all aligned with our high standards of academic excellence.
Subject information
Redesign and develop the 16-18 Engineering course to deliver a challenging academic experience with in-depth knowledge and practical skill development within the fields of civil, mechanical, and electrical and electronics engineering. The purpose of this course is to give students an insight into engineering as an academic and career discipline, as well as innovations and challenges in the field. The course will include practical design projects and experiments relevant to these fields as well as an ongoing group project assignment. The course structure and timetable will be developed to allow for varied delivery styles in different programme locations, and the teaching materials will be highly detailed, geared towards supporting operational delivery of this equipment-heavy course and Teachers with varied teaching and field experience.
Project overview
1. The Course Developer will be responsible for the content design and development of teaching and student learning materials for a two-week, roughly 40-hours course broken down into 60-90 minute lessons.
2. The materials will be developed in Canva using Oxford Royale's templates and style guidelines.
3. A project plan with dates for draft submission, review and editing will be agreed, including review by external subject-matter and teaching experts.
4. Attendance at regular review meetings (online) will be required.
5. The project is to be completed by the end of March 2025.

Project details
1. Two-stage interview process, with a task to be completed in advance of the second interview stage.
2. Full day of in-person training at Oxford Royale's Head Office in Oxford.
3. The project is contracted through a Supply of Services Agreement with a schedule for payment (payment being made on the successful sign off of deliverables), invoicing for payment.
4. Work remotely and on your own schedule with a project completion deadline of March 2025.

Desired experience
1. Academic and/or professional experience in the subject-matter field;
2. In-depth and wide-ranging knowledge of the subject matter, including up-to-date knowledge of trends and innovations in the field with a wide range of case studies and examples to draw from;
3. Instructional design (including for project based learning);
4. Experience designing a curriculum and teaching materials for and/or teaching students aged 13-18;
5. Teaching qualification;
6. Experience teaching in a summer school/short course environment;
7. Experience teaching the subject to students aged 13-18;
8. Working with editors and proofreaders.
Desired Skills
1. Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills;
2. Use of Canva design software;
3. Up-to-date knowledge of teaching strategies and best practices;
4. Ability to integrate varied, interactive, student-centered and engaging teaching and learning strategies and activities;
