The SEN team at Strategy Education are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a 2:1 basis, you will be working with a Year 3 student based in Brampton Cambridgeshire who has ADHD and SEMH. This student has an EHCP and is entitled to 15 hours per week (5 days per week) and the hours will be 9.00am - 12 noon Monday to Friday (there is some flexibility on your start time if you need to drop your own children at school). The primary activity is to provide an individualised education both academically and socially in the community, so ideally you will need to be a car driver or live close by. Duties include: Assessing the individual needs of the pupil and following their EHCP’s if applicable Managing challenging behaviour in a positive and calm way Have the ability to differentiate work according to each child’s individual needs Candidates must have: The legal right to work in the UK Experience of working with children with special needs. Enhanced DBS Certificate, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) Two professional reference checks The successful candidate will have some experience within the following: Outreach work Autism Spectrum Condition - ASC Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder - ADHD Social, Emotional and Mental Health – SEMH Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties/Severe Learning Difficulties - PMLD/SLD This experience could have been gained in a SEND setting or within a mainstream primary school.
