Job title: Systems Accountant

This opportunity is in the solution design and development arena for Systems Accountant who will play a major role with the technical design and development of the company’s technical offerings. The position is based at our Leicester office with occasional assignments at client locations.
Job Description (Main Duties and Responsibilities):
Oversee the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of financial systems (e.g., ERP, accounting software).
Ensure system integrity, accuracy, and alignment with accounting policies and standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues related to financial data processing.
Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes through technology.
Provide support and training to accounting and finance staff on financial systems and applications.
Collaborate with IT and finance teams to ensure project goals are met and systems are aligned with business needs.
Lead or participate in projects related to financial systems upgrades, migrations, or implementations.
Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
Develop user guides and training materials for financial systems.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience Needed [The candidate must demonstrate these in all stages of assessment]
2 to 3 years of experience working as Systems Accountant or a related field
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks) and ERP systems.
Strong skills in analyzing financial data, using tools like Excel, SQL, or business intelligence software.
Understanding of database systems and the ability to manage and manipulate financial data.
Proficiency in financial reporting tools and software, such as Tableau or Power BI, to visualize and present data effectively.
Deep knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Experience with automating financial processes and workflows, using tools like RPA (Robotic Process Automation).
Knowledge of data security practices to protect sensitive financial information.
Ability to create and analyze financial models to support decision-making.
Awareness of compliance standards and regulations relevant to accounting and finance.
Understanding of data governance principles to ensure data integrity and quality within financial systems.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred.
