Allen & York are delighted to be working with a leading organisation in the mining sector as they look to recruit a Programme Manager to join their business and manage an International Code that has been designed to ensure transparent reporting, and which demonstrates the sectors’ commitment to continuous improvement.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with expertise in ESG reporting to engage with organisations globally and work with them to ensure they report against it annually and to develop and implement robust processes and systems. You’ll manage the organisation of audits and reports, make sure reports are delivered on time and that standards are maintained.
You’ll also be managing independent consultants and assessors, so you’ll build up a network of auditors and assessors in addition to the companies that adhere to the International Code.
You will have strong communication skills – both written and spoken – as you’ll be regularly liaising with member organisations overseas and you’ll attend events and work collaboratively with other departments internally.
There is an Associate who works part time on the project, helping with the administration of the programme so you would work closely with this person, but team management skills are not essential but in time, it’s expected that, as you grow into the role, you would be happy to take on additional line management responsibilities.
Whilst languages are not essential, it would be beneficial if you speak French, Spanish or Portuguese as the organisations you’ll be liaising with are largely based in Latin America and Africa, as well as SE Asia. In addition, there would be an expectation for you to travel internationally on occasion to visit some of the companies…this is a fantastic opportunity to visit the companies you’re working with and experience first-hand their operations.
With offices in North London, the Sustainability Team work predominantly remotely so if you’re happy to work on a remote basis, this is good (the potential for co working spaces is an option as well), but if you’re based within a commutable distance of North London, you can utilise the offices. You will have right to work in the UK.
So, if you would like to join an impact focused organisation and build up a strong network of contacts and ensure the implementation and development of the Code and you’d like to find out more about the opportunity, please contact Katie on kpereira@allen-york.com.
