They are now seeking a dedicated SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) Advisor to join their team and support the ongoing commitment to safety and compliance in their projects. Role Overview: The SHEQ Advisor will play a key role in promoting and ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) performance across all electrical and mechanical services projects. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams to maintain compliance with relevant regulations, conduct safety audits, and provide ongoing guidance on SHEQ matters. This position is crucial for ensuring that the companys operations meet the required health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across all projects within the retail and construction sectors. Key Responsibilities: Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and assessments to ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations on electrical and mechanical services projects. Lead risk assessments, ensuring that all hazards are identified and managed appropriately. Advise project teams, subcontractors, and clients on SHEQ matters, promoting a culture of safety and quality on-site. Ensure that all safety documentation, including safety plans, method statements, and risk assessments, are up-to-date and compliant with current legislation. Monitor the performance of electrical and mechanical services activities to ensure that they meet health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions. Deliver SHEQ inductions, training, and ongoing education to staff, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement. Keep abreast of the latest health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations and industry best practices, ensuring the company remains compliant at all times. Provide guidance on waste management, environmental compliance, and sustainability practices on projects. Support the preparation of SHEQ reports, audits, and performance reviews. Key Requirements: NEBOSH or IOSH certification is essential. Proven experience in SHEQ management, specifically within the electrical or mechanical services industry. Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations, including those specific to electrical and mechanical services in retail and construction sectors. Experience in conducting risk assessments and managing HSEQ documentation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and advise various stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant SHEQ reporting tools. Full UK driving licence, as site visits across various locations will be required. Desirable Skills: Experience in the retail and construction sectors is highly advantageous. A background in electrical or mechanical engineering is a plus.
