The Role
We are currently recruiting for a paper machine installation supervisor on behalf of a leading industrial contractor. This contract role is based at a large-scale project in Shotton, where you will oversee the installation of paper machines and associated heavy industrial equipment. The position requires a strong technical background, hands-on leadership, and the ability to coordinate teams to ensure smooth installation processes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced supervisor with a background in paper machine installation to take on a key role in a high-profile project.
Responsibilities
1. Overseeing the daily installation activities, ensuring work is completed to project specifications and quality standards.
2. Managing manpower, subcontractors, equipment, and resources to maintain efficient workflow.
3. Conducting regular quality inspections to ensure installation meets industry standards and identifying any necessary corrective actions.
4. Providing technical expertise to resolve installation-related issues efficiently.
5. Collaborating with engineers and technical teams to develop solutions for on-site challenges.
6. Maintaining accurate documentation of installation activities, inspections, and testing reports for project handover.
7. Ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
8. Communicating project progress, challenges, and resolutions to engineers and management.
9. Coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to keep the project on track.
Requirements
1. 3-5 years of experience in the installation of paper machines or similar heavy industrial equipment.
2. Experience with Valmet paper machines is highly preferred.
3. SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme).
4. NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3 in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferable.
5. Strong leadership and communication skills to manage teams effectively.
6. Experience working on large industrial sites, ensuring safety and quality compliance.
7. Valid CSCS card or equivalent site certification.
