A food manufacturing client of ours in the Witham area is recruiting a Production Coordinator to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position working Monday - Friday 8.00am - 5.00pm and paying £27,000 - £35,000 per annum depending on relevant skills and experience.
As Production Coordinator, your role purpose will be to provide support to the Production management team by assisting and coordinating the maintenance and optimisation of all production processes and records. This is a hands-on role covering all production areas of the site, encompassing health and safety, production, hygiene and HR systems to ensure the site is audit ready at all times.
Key Duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Assist with coordinating the planning of production on site with the plant production team.
2. Ensure all production records are kept up to date including cleaning records.
3. Ensure production and personnel records and rotas are kept up to date including updating the T&A system.
4. Completing weekly and monthly meter readings and stock reports.
5. Coordinating the ordering of safety and chemical supplies.
6. Coordinating customer blend processing and ensuring blends are updated on Microsoft Dynamics AX in a timely fashion.
7. Liaising with all site staff to update and maintain risk assessments and plant procedures.
8. Coordinating the close out of customer audit corrective actions.
9. Liaising with all site staff to update and maintain COSHH assessments.
10. Assisting in the maintenance of ISO 18001, 14001 and 9001 standards.
11. Coordinating the training activities for all plant production employees.
12. Assist in dealing with any customer complaints and, in particular, helping to fully investigate and properly close out any issues.
13. Assisting with the preparation for customer site visits, audits, and inspections of facilities where necessary.
14. Carrying out troubleshooting projects with the team to identify the reasons for specific problems and work with site management to resolve these.
15. Gain a sound understanding of the manufacturing process and associated activities to be able to provide support and cover of other departments when required.
Skills and Experience required to be considered for this Production Coordinator position:
1. Previous administration experience gained in a manufacturing and production environment.
2. Excellent interpersonal skills.
3. Must be numerate.
4. Self-starter with ability to plan and manage workload.
5. Excellent organisational skills.
6. Flexible and adaptable.
7. Willingness to learn about the food processes.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Graduate Level qualification within food, agriculture, science or engineering disciplines.
2. IOSH Managing Safety qualification.
