We're helping to shape the future of energy and with a huge pipeline of projects to deliver over the next decade, we're looking for people who want to make a real difference. We have an exciting opportunity for a Personal Assistant (PA) to the Director of Network Planning and Regulation. Leading the strategic function, the Director is responsible for Asset Management, System Design and Planning, Process and System Development, Regulatory Economics, Governance and Reporting and Workforce Renewal. Accelerating Net Zero is at the heart of everything we do and each and every one of these areas plays a vital role in achieving this ambition. So join us now on our Net Zero journey!
What you’ll be doing
Working as a PA within Network Planning and Regulation gives you an amazing insight into the challenges of the energy industry. A varied and interesting role, no two days are the same. You’ll undertake typical PA activities such as monitoring the Director’s inbox, diary management, travel booking and preparing presentations and reports. In addition, you will be responsible for the administration and preparation of Senior Management Meetings including planning, preparation of agendas, collation and distribution of papers, minute taking and maintaining/updating action logs. But you’ll also contribute to key value-add activities that enable the smooth running of the department such as supporting the Director with setting and achieving the strategic objectives, budgeting and facilitating the performance management cycle. Whether you’re looking to develop in a PA role, or you’ve got longer-term ambitions to progress your career, this is an exciting opportunity to kick start your career at SP Energy Networks.
Working Monday to Friday, you’ll be based in our Glasgow office. Once you’re fully competent in the role, usually after around 6 months, you’ll have the opportunity of hybrid working which would allow home working 2 days a week, or more with agreement from your Line Manager.
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this fast-paced role, you’ll have previous experience in a similar PA role, supporting senior stakeholders. And you’ll be exposed to extremely confidential and sensitive information so you’ll need to be respectful and discrete. With strong communication skills, you’ll be adept at building relationships and engaging with a range of stakeholders. Internally that could be engineers, accountants or communications specialists. Externally it might be regulators, cabinet ministers and CEOs. You’ll be able to adapt your communication style to your audience and be able to understand and deal with a range of complex information. And as you’ll be responsible for answering emails, preparing presentations and minute taking, you’ll also have excellent written communication skills. We’re looking for people with initiative and ambition, who’s keen to get involved and is always striving to make things better. Someone with a thirst for knowledge, who thrives on being the best that they can be.
