Health & Safety Manager
Location: Near Brentwood
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 DOE + Car or Car Allowance
Working Pattern: 5 days a week on-site, with occasional travel
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive Health & Safety Manager to take full ownership of our Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) systems. This is an opportunity to lead, innovate, and improve existing processes, driving a strong safety culture throughout the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and refining our H&S framework, ensuring compliance, and making a tangible impact.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement new health and safety strategies, continuously improving existing processes.
* Foster a strong safety culture, ensuring awareness through training sessions and communication.
* Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Lead H&S training initiatives, identifying and addressing training requirements.
* Manage a team of auditors, overseeing their performance and responsibilities.
* Oversee the Company Management System for Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ).
* Create and maintain key documentation, including policies, procedures, and RAMS.
* Identify and mitigate operational and workplace risks, ensuring a safe working environment.
* Support Managers and Directors with risk assessments and compliance documentation.
* Conduct regular H&S inspections, ensuring standards are maintained across the business.
* Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions.
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies regarding health & safety management.
* Maintain accurate H&S records, including training logs, incident reports, and inspections.
* Produce weekly/monthly reports, identifying areas for improvement and action plans.
* Oversee compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
* Lead contractor onboarding, ensuring they meet H&S requirements
Candidate Requirements
Full UK driving license and willingness to travel as required.
NEBOSH Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification.
Previous experience in Health & Safety management within telecoms or construction (not essential, but advantageous)
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 compliance.
Proficient in Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.
