Job Overview:
We are seeking IT Infrastructure Engineers with L1-level skills in the rack and stack process of network and server devices. The ideal candidate will also have a foundational understanding of software tools and be comfortable navigating applications to perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for performance validation.
This role involves daily travel to different sites, where the engineer will perform testing before and after the rack and stack process while supervising onsite engineers throughout the day. The client will provide training on the UAT testing process before migration activities begin.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Travel to a new site each working day and perform pre-migration testing (approximately 1 hour).
2. Supervise rack and stack engineers throughout the installation and setup process.
3. Ensure proper cabling and hardware setup (routers, switches, firewalls, servers).
4. Perform post-migration testing (approximately 1 hour) before concluding the day.
5. Navigate through testing applications to execute UAT tests as per client requirements.
6. Follow structured testing protocols and report findings to the project team.
7. Verify hardware performance and connectivity before and after migrations.
8. Work closely with senior engineers and project managers to ensure successful deployments.
Required Skills & Experience:
* 1-3 years of hands-on experience in IT support, field engineering, network operations, or data center deployments.
* Strong understanding of rack and stack procedures for network and server hardware.
* Familiarity with cabling standards (Ethernet, fiber optics, structured cabling).
* Basic knowledge of software tools for performance testing and troubleshooting.
* Ability to navigate user interfaces in testing applications and follow structured test scripts.
* Some exposure to network fundamentals (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, connectivity troubleshooting).
* Ability to follow detailed documentation and procedures for deployments and testing.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to document test results accurately.
* Willingness to learn and undergo client-provided training before UAT testing begins.
* Comfortable with frequent travel to various sites.
Nice-to-Have Skills (Not Mandatory):
* Basic ability to log into devices via SSH or web interfaces to verify configurations.
* Experience with IT ticketing systems and documentation tools (JIRA, ServiceNow, etc.).
* Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or CompTIA A+ (preferred but not required).
* Familiarity with ITIL processes for structured incident reporting.
Soft Skills:
* Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently.
* Good communication skills for reporting findings and working with teams.
* Ability to work under deadlines in a structured testing environment.
* Willingness to adapt and learn new testing procedures.
* Ability to handle daily travel efficiently.

* Work Environment: Field-based role, traveling to different sites daily.
* Work Schedule: Typically 3 days per week, with compensation only for days worked.
