Your Mission:
To perform installation, commissioning, modification and maintenance of electrical distribution equipment at UK and overseas locations. Travelling to various locations in UK & Overseas and work in flexible 24/7 cover in a rotating shift pattern.
Your Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise/perform the following activities (at UK, overseas and offshore locations) on switchgear, transformers and related equipment between the voltage range of 400v - 33kv.
2. Off-loading of new panels, switchgear and transformers.
3. Installation of new panels.
4. Commissioning of Electrical Equipment.
5. Wiring Modifications and Retrofit upgrades.
6. Planned Maintenance - From visual to intrusive across our product range.
7. Partial Discharge testing, thermal imaging, oil samples etc.
8. Systems testing and fault diagnosis.
9. Installation of EAA sensors and required hardware.
10. Working in a safe environment - Perform site risk assessments and assist in producing method statements.
11. Document test results and produce site work reports.
12. Contribute to the formulation of offers for site activities.
13. Assist with works tests when necessary.
14. Contribute to customer training activities.
15. Promote the Company's service activities, identify and pursue business opportunities.
16. Participate in the OnCall rota system to provide emergency support to our customers 24/7.
17. Supervising personnel onsite which will include members of your own team and sub-contractors.
18. Liaising with the installation/project managers.
Important Criteria for this role:
1. Produce site reports/test results within 2 working days of completing a contract.
2. Complete time sheets, expenses on a weekly basis.
3. Complete Health & Safety documentation on a weekly basis whilst in a supervisory role.
4. Complete Method Statements & Risk assessments within timescales set.
5. Complete installations & maintenance against agreed timescales.
About You:
1. Previous working experience of installation, commissioning, maintenance & repair of switchgear & associated plant.
2. Have experience of working alone and as part of a team at UK, overseas and offshore locations.
3. Be customer/results focused and demonstrate a 'service' disposition.
4. Be willing to work at nuclear, military and offshore locations.
5. Hold a full driving license.
6. Be well grounded in the principles & application of electrical safety from the risks associated with live HV networks.
7. Demonstrate appropriate underpinning knowledge in the form of academic qualifications (e.g. Degree/HNC) or relevant experience.
8. Good experience of High Voltage Testing (415v - 33kv systems), CT Magnetisation Curves and CT Primary Injection.
9. Experience of Relay Secondary Injection (Both electromechanical and solid state relays) and VT Primary Injection.
10. Experience of Control Circuit Wiring testing & modification and Mechanical/Electrical function testing of 415v - 33kv switchboards & networks.
