The Role
Our client is seeking a Paralegal/Administrator to support their legal team and act as a key point of contact for clients. This role combines legal and administrative responsibilities, making it ideal for someone early in their legal career or with experience in a small practice. The position is designed for individuals who are looking to expand their skills in a dynamic and client-facing role but aren’t seeking to rush into fee earning.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for clients and visitors, providing a welcoming and professional experience.
* Handle all incoming calls across multiple offices, schedule appointments, and respond to inquiries.
* Assist with drafting and preparing legal documents, such as wills, LPAs, and deeds.
* Certify and upload client identification into the case management system.
* Prepare and file documents with courts and agencies, ensuring all deadlines are met.
* Copy, scan, and send documents; manage incoming and outgoing post.
* Handle cash and cheque payments, issue receipts, and undertake banking tasks.
* Chase external parties to support case progression and ensure documentation accuracy.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
* Have a law degree or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
* Possess experience in a paralegal, legal administrative, or receptionist role, ideally within a small firm.
* Be organised, detail-oriented, and capable of handling sensitive information with discretion.
* Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
* Be professional, friendly, and able to create a welcoming environment for clients.
* Be reliable, punctual, and flexible to meet the dynamic needs of the role.
* Have a calm and empathetic approach when handling sensitive or distressed clients.
