Hays Specialist Recruitment is actively recruiting Support Workers based in Warlingham and the surrounding area to work with adults and the elderly with learning disabilities in a residential setting.
Salary: £23,264 per annum
Working Pattern: 40 hours (full-time) or 24 hours (part-time) per week (7 days flexibility required)

Your New Role
1. Providing essential support to adults with pre-existing conditions such as Alzheimer's dementia, within residential homes, including personal care.
2. Creating a safe and nurturing environment to foster their independence and personal growth.
3. Engaging in diverse day-to-day activities tailored to their unique needs and interests, such as relationship building, days-out and other living activities.
4. Assisting with household tasks like cooking and cleaning, as well as shopping for the residents.
5. Assisting in the management of the residents' finances.
6. Supporting medication management.
7. Building trust and responsibility to accompany them to appointments and activities.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Preferred Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a care setting supporting adults with learning disabilities within the UK.
2. Driver's license is preferred, but not mandatory.
3. Ideal Qualifications: Qualifications such as an NVQ L3/2 in Health and Social Care or relevant qualifications in supporting adults with learning disabilities are ideal, but entry-level candidates are welcome.
4. Flexibility: You must be available 7-days a week to work at least 2 days (part-time) or 4 days (full-time) per week.
5. Resilience: This role can be challenging, so a strong will, perseverance, and patience are essential when dealing with difficult situations.
6. Effective Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
7. Ambition: This role is an entry-level position, with the prospect of furthering yourself with the backing of a large financier.
