General Job Summary: Responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties in a professional manner.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Greets, screens, schedules, and directs patients/visitors to appropriate areas and demonstrates excellence with respect to treating and caring for customer’s in-person and over the phone.
2. Responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties: answers phone calls, takes messages, fax, scan, etc.
3. Verify that all forms, test results, and other paperwork is in the electronic health records system according to therapy office protocol.
4. Obtain, verify, and update patient information and provide support services to patients and therapy staff.
5. Maintain the practice management system.
6. Daily calls to patients from the scheduling pool to schedule therapy visits.
7. Collect payments for services rendered per policy, including copayments and balances on patient accounts.
8. Daily drawer balancing.
9. Compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and safety standards of the organization.
10. Perform other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the practice.
Requirements
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year of experience in a customer service position in a medical practice setting preferred.
Other Requirements: Schedules will change as department needs change including overtime and travel between therapy locations to support staff as needed.

2. Skilled in communicating effectively with providers, staff, patients and vendors.

4. Skilled in adaptability and basic math skills.
Abilities:
1. Ability to work effectively and deal courteously with patients, staff, and others.
2. Ability to multi-task and analyze situations to respond appropriately.
3. Ability to use math skills to accurately complete daily balancing and provide accurate change to the patient.
4. Ability to organize work environment and workload to meet needs of the organization.
5. Ability to work as a team player (critical in this position).
Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment.
Work Environment: Medical Office.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Sitting primarily 90% of shift with computer work and/or phone calls. Fast paced high productivity environment.
