About the Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled Venue Technician to operate and maintain our extensive range of lighting, sound, and special effects technology during weddings and events. You will play a key role in enhancing our events through cutting-edge AV solutions, ensuring every celebration is visually and audibly spectacular. When there are no events or weddings, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our AV setup, bringing fresh and innovative ideas to enhance the guest experience.
This would be a great opportunity for someone who's just left college studying live events or AV and is looking to get experience in lighting and sound/live events.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate and oversee lighting, sound, and special effects during weddings and events.
* Maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade AV equipment, including lighting rigs, sound systems, LED screens, and special effects.
* Set up, rig, and de-rig AV equipment for events, ensuring smooth operation.
* Work closely with wedding couples to understand and deliver their AV requirements, including specific lighting setups and song choices.
* Propose and implement new lighting and special effects ideas to elevate the venue’s AV experience.
* Ensure all AV operations adhere to health and safety standards.
* Be comfortable working at heights, using ladders, lifts, and rigging equipment.
* Assist with pre-production and preparation of AV setups for events.
* Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging AV technologies to keep our venue at the cutting edge of event production.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience in lighting operation, preferably with ChamSys software.
* Experience in sound engineering for live events.
* Experience with special effects such as Sparkulars and fog machines.
* Experience with LED screens and processors (desirable but not essential).
* Strong technical knowledge of lighting equipment, live performance technology, and AV systems.
* Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding environments.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations in AV and event production.
* Flexibility with working hours, including evenings and weekends.
* Passion for innovation and creativity in event production.
