Job Introduction
Location: Ideally Oxfordshire based due to travel to South sites (as far as Bristol, London, and South Wales). Additional applicants from other areas in the South of the UK will be considered but must be comfortable travelling to the above locations.
Role is hybrid – typically 3 days’ field (in said locations) and 2 days WFH.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead on creating a safe workplace environment across the South Region.
* Provide health and safety induction training for all new acquisitions and practice managers joining the company in the South Region.
* Conduct unannounced practice audit visits to all sites in the South Region.
* Complete internal risk assessments related to COSHH, manual handling, working at heights, lone working, young workers, DSEAR, etc.
* Deliver annual Fire Warden training for all sites in the South Region, ensuring fire drills are conducted by sites and fire safety is upheld throughout the business.
* Ensure compliance with statutory health and safety obligations across all areas of the organisation.
* Support practices with CQC/HIW, and other governing body inspections.
* Stay up to date with relevant health and safety legislation and standards, communicating any changes to the business.
* Review and update health and safety policies and procedures regularly, ensuring adherence and clear communication.
* Maintain accurate health and safety training records.
* Document and investigate all accidents and incidents, providing recommendations for improvements.
* Review external risk assessments and work with sites to implement additional control measures.
Required Skills:
* Full UK driving license and own car. Travel to locations such as Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, London, Somerset, Bristol, and South Wales is required, with potential short notice travel and overnight stays (hotels provided).
* Experience in a dental practice (Dental Nurse, Practice Manager, Receptionist) is ideal.
* Analytical, logical, and organised mindset.
* Excellent communication skills with the confidence to deliver to internal and external teams.
