Position
Reporting to the Group Repair Operations Manager, this exciting new role is responsible for reworking on electronic equipment, mainly telecom transmission products, soldering down to discrete components, assisting repair engineers in their job function and also keeping soldering equipment maintained.
Specific Responsibilities
* Solder down to discrete component level, through hole, SMD and BGA’s
* Use various soldering equipment, soldering iron with adjustable temperature settings, electronic de-soldering hand piece, hot air equipment and infrared BGA station
* Follow all company Policies and Procedures including but not limited to Quality, Health and Safety, Environment and Information Security
* Perform any reasonable requests which are not defined but within the ability of the individual
* Additional responsibilities or functions may be required as necessary to support the business

Qualifications/ Skills
* A good understanding of soldering practices
* Familiar with IPC-610-A standard
* Good experience in working with through hole, SMD and BGA components including different packages
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Sound knowledge of workshop techniques and safety practices
* Ability to work with minimum supervision
* Ability to adapt to customer deadlines
