Job responsibilities The post holder is identified as the clinical specialist for Safeguarding adults across the Trust providing operational leadership, advanced knowledge, and skills alongside provision of safeguarding advice, support, and expertise. The post holder will work closely with the Named Nurse Safeguarding Children, Named Midwife Safeguarding, Named Nurse for Children in Care and the Associate Chief Nurse of Safeguarding and in partnership with other Named and Designated Professionals, to ensure a consistent and coordinated approach to practice when supporting adults in need of safeguarding intervention across the trust within a Think Family framework. The post holder will support all activities necessary to ensure that the organisation meets its responsibilities to safeguard/protect adults as set out in national guidance. The post holder will also manage the Safeguarding Adult element of the Think Family Safeguarding Service. The post holder will deputise for the Associate Chief Nurse of Safeguarding. The post holder will maintain oversight of safeguarding adult cases via review and management of internal notification and referral process, including quality assurance and support with Section 42 processes. The post holder will provide advice, support, and guidance to colleagues in relation to the MCA and DoLS/LPS. The post holder will take a strategic lead on service developments relating to safeguarding to support improvements in the quality of adult care and their experience.
