Day Rate: £470 p/d PAYE + 36 days annual leave // £630 p/d Umbrella
Type: Full-time
Work Schedule: 50% Site-Based, 50% Office, 07:30 - 17:30 (Day Shift, Subject to Change) including Weekend, Back Shift, and Night Shift as needed.
Job Purpose / Overview
Are you ready to lead in one of the UK's most ambitious construction projects? This Nuclear New Build Client is seeking a Construction Delivery Lead (CDL) who will play a pivotal role in the Construction Delivery Team at Hinkley Point C. Your primary objective is to oversee the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) or Civil construction activities performed by our Tier 1 contract partners. This role reports to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager (SCDM) and is vital in ensuring safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives are met.
Contextual Information
Hinkley Point C is a nuclear site in West Somerset, and its vision is to build two major EPR nuclear plants. The Construction Delivery Lead will specifically oversee the construction within the Nuclear Island (NI) area, including Units 1 & 2 (N1, N2, and N3). As this project is massive in scale and complexity, we're looking for someone with experience in delivering large projects under challenging constraints.
Principal Accountabilities
As a Construction Delivery Lead, you will:
1. Manage Construction Delivery Managers and ensure their understanding of site activities.
2. Oversee health, safety, and environmental aspects during construction activities.
3. Conduct safety and assurance inspections, support surveillance programs, and ensure compliance with procedures.
4. Coordinate with site functions, attend coordination meetings, and lead weekly construction meetings.
5. Manage construction logistics, support contract partners, and recommend measures to mitigate concerns.
6. Review construction daily site logs and ensure timely reporting of issues.
7. Collaborate with stakeholders, manage engineering changes, and assist in contractor mobilization.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
8. Strategic planning of site setup, construction sequencing, and resource allocation.
9. Strong commercial knowledge impacting construction matters.
10. Ability to produce concise reports and motivate team members.
11. Degree in Civil Construction or equivalent.
12. Understanding of CDM Regulations and NEBOSH/SMSTS/IOSH qualifications.
13. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
14. Results-focused mindset, able to deliver under pressure and manage stakeholders
Desirable:
15. Experience in high-security environments.
16. Experience in the Nuclear sector.
17. Qualifications in NEBOSH, SMSTS, or IOSH.
