About the role
The Head of Retail Operations (FTC) is responsible for working with the Bicester Village flagship Retail leadership team on strategic planning, key commercial growth initiatives and implementing the delivery of operational best practices and new technologies.
Key responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role will include some or all the following.
Development and execution of strategic plans
1. Developing and executing strategic commercial & operational plans that drive sales growth with Retail and Deputy Directors.
2. Leading from a retail and 360 village perspective to drive impact, identifying new business opportunities which promote innovation and productivity.
3. Use data to provide insights into performance of commercial plans.
Leadership & Team Management
4. Working with retail leadership team to drive efficiencies and create business tools to streamline and improve ways of working across retail team.
5. Manage and mentor direct team of 3 to deliver flagship operational excellence support across the retail team and 160 brand partners.
Budget Management
6. Manage and monitor cost budgets across the retail team with key budget owners inclusive of: Retail, Food & Beverage, Training, Recruitment and Personal Shopping.
7. Budgeting, forecasting and monitoring to ensure costs remain within budget as well as delivering saving opportunities where possible, reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Brand Communication Strategy
8. Lead delivery of brand communication strategy and content, including; Store Manager Meetings, Quarterly Business Reviews and Newsflashes.
9. Lead delivery of brand training on operational systems.
Operational & Compliance
10. Develop, adapt and standardise retail operational policies, procedures and best practices.
11. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures aligned with auditing and legal teams.
12. Lead delivery of retail village & brand level KPI reporting, insights and market performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
13. Collaborate cross functionally to drive the delivery of operational best practices and new technologies for Bicester Village ensuring we offer a best-in-class experience for the Village teams and Brands.
14. 360 Village lead delivering commercial After-Action Reviews (AAR’s).
15. Key department liaison for Guest Services, Marketing, Retail development, partnerships, Legal, Finance and IT teams.
About You
We are looking for an individual who can display the following experience and skills:
16. Degree education or relevant qualification is preferrable
17. Proven experience in a similar or senior management role for a minimum of 5 years
18. Able to work well with all levels across the business and customers with a creative and open minded capability to adapt to a fast pace environment
19. Strong analytical skills with a data led mindset
20. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
21. Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
22. Able to work on short term tactical requirements, whilst balancing a longer term strategic view
23. Strong project management skills, a self-starter and entrepreneurial mindset
24. Fluent in English, any other European language would be beneficial
